ANALYTICAL LABORATORY

The Analytical Lab in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Jaffna, with a focus on Environmental Engineering, is a cutting-edge facility designed to support research and educational activities related to environmental sustainability. The lab is equipped with advanced instruments for analyzing water and air quality, soil contamination, and waste management. 1.Furnace

The furnace provides controlled heating at high temperatures, essential for various laboratory processes such as annealing, calcination, and sintering. It offers precise temperature control for consistent and reliable results.

 

 

2.Vacuum Filtration System

The vacuum filtration system facilitates the separation of solids from liquids through suction. It consists of a filtration apparatus connected to a vacuum pump, enabling efficient and rapid filtration of large volumes of samples.

 

3.Glass Filtration System

The glass filtration system comprises glassware components designed for filtration processes.

It ensures chemical compatibility and transparency, allowing for visual monitoring of the filtration process.

 

4.Vacuum Pump

The vacuum pump creates or maintains a vacuum within a system, essential for various laboratory applications such as filtration, distillation, and degassing. It enables the removal of air or other gases from a sealed environment.

 

5.Portable Turbidimeter

The portable turbidimeter measures the turbidity or cloudiness of water samples. It is compact and lightweight, ideal for on-site or field measurements in environmental monitoring, water treatment, and research applications.

 

6.Shaking Water Bath

7.Chest Type Freezer

8.Peristaltic Pump Type-1

11.DO Meter

The DO (Dissolved Oxygen) meter measures the concentration of oxygen dissolved in liquid samples, crucial for assessing water quality in environmental monitoring, aquaculture, and wastewater treatment applications. It ensures accurate and reliable DO measurements for various sample types.

 

12.Deionized Water Unit

13.Magnetic Stirrer (Multi, Single)
