The construction work of the Faculty of Engineering buildings was started on a remarkable day of the commencing of the Faculty of Agriculture at their permanent buildings at Kilinochchi premises of the University of Jaffna. The actual work on the faculty of engineering building complex was started on 14th June 2014 with blessing ceremony organized by Sanken Construction Pvt. Ltd. This was done with the participation of Higher Education Minister Honorable S.B.Dissanayake, Minister of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development Honorable Douglas Devananda, Jaffna University Vice Chancellor Senior Professor Vasanthy Arasaratnm,Deputy Chairman of Committees and Member of Parliament Mr. Murugesu Chandrakumar, Government Agent Kilinochchi Mrs. Rubawathy Ketheeswaran, Professor K. Kandasamy, deans of all faculties, heads and all staff of the faculty of engineering, Sanken’s managers and engineers. It was very happy to get blessing from all members together for this remarkable day of the Faculty. This building complex consist of four wings of each three story faculty buildings and a guest house.
