Dr. SS. Sivakumar and Mr. Saliya Sampath attended and presented their research papers with their research students on 8th International Perspective on Water Resources and the Environment Conference (IPWE 2016), held at Cinnamon Grand hotel in Colombo, from 4th to 6th January 2016 organizing by American Society of Civil Engineers /Environmental and Water Resources Institute (ASCE-EWRI). This symposium was organized to create a forum to discuss sustainable practices that work for all nations. Dr. Sivakumar presentation was based on (a) Cultivating Productive Water from Salt Water Lagoons in Northern Sri Lanka Using Spread Sheet model as a Tool to Analyze the Water Balance, (b) Water Resource Research Output of Sri Lanka a Bibliometric Study and (c) Role of Farmer Organization in Groundwater Management in Jaffna District.
Sampath presented his master research findings in the topic of Setting Up of WRF Model for Downscaling of Regional Rainfall Forecast to Deduru Oya Reservoir Catchment in Sri Lanka”. He has presented his paper in the technical session of “Water and Society”. This paper was sponsored by WaSo project of the University of Jaffna.
