Professor Alfred A. Christy who is from the Faculty of Engineering and Science, University of Agder, Norway, visited the Faculty of Engineering on 8th April 2016. He visited with his team to discuss the opportunities of pursuing postgraduate studies, staff exchange and possible research collaborations. It was an excellent discussion with the team of the staff from the University of Agder. The Faculty of Engineering of the University of Jaffna is a fast growing faculty started two years ago. This collaborative discussions will definitely help its growth with near future including staff visits and possible research collaborations. The Faculty of Engineering sincerely thanked Prof Christy and his team on sharing all possible collaborations and inviting our staff members to University of Agder.
Historically, the official link between the University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka and the University of Agder at Kristiansand, Norway started from 1st July 2015 by signing MOU. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Jaffna, visited the University of Agder for signing the MOU. This MOU is to promote academic cooperation and student exchange between the two institutions, based on mutual benefit for both parties. In brief it promotes (i) Joint research projects mutually beneficial to academic staff and students from both institutions, (ii) Exchange of academic staff for consultation, curriculum development and research, (iii) Exchange of graduate and PhD students in the areas of interest for both institutions, (iv) Exchange of academic materials and academic and research publications in the fields of interest for both parties.
