The inaugural meeting of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Society (EEES) was held on 13th July 2016 (Wednesday) at 4.30 pm at lecture hall 2 of faculty of engineering, University of Jaffna. Dean-Engineering Dr. A. Atputharajah, Head – Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Dr. T. Thiruvaran, Head-Department of Computer Engineering Dr. A. Kaneswaran, lecturers Dr. V. Cynthujah, Mr. R. Valluvan, Mr. S. Thanenjayan, Ms. S. Jananie, Mrs. P. Jeyananthan and students from department of electrical and electronic engineering participated.

Cynthujah, Mr. R. Valluvan, Mr. S. Thanenjayan, Ms. S. Jananie, Mrs. P. Jeyananthan and students from department of electrical and electronic engineering participated.
Mr. R. Valluvan was appointed as the senior treasurer of the society. Nominations for the office bearers for society were called and the following were elected: President – Manchukan Yuvaraj, Vice President, Ratnakumar Rajan, Secretary – Sathiyaseelan Linojan, Vice Sectretary – Supratha Chnadrasekaran, and Treasurer – Akila Eranda.
The goals and roles of the society were discussed along with the future plan of action. As part of the regular program, the society will be facilitating invited talks from industry and academic experts to expose the faculty community to the state of the art in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
