The “Waste for Life” workshop was hosted by the Faculty of Engineering, University of Jaffna, Kilinochchi on 24th October 2016. This is another service from the Australian-Sri Lankan University partnerships project on developing community-based waste recycling businesses. This workshop offers a unique opportunity for local business to experience first-hand on what the “Waste for Life Program” is about and how it can potentially offer economic opportunities to local communities. This workshop was conducted for three hours from 9:00am. This workshop was mainly conducted by Professor Caroline Baillie, who is the overall in-charge of this project from University of Western Australia, Dr. Randika, who coordinated this project in Sri Lanka and two volunteers Mr. Ashok and Mr. Dan, who are helping the project at the Faculty of Engineering appointed by the project.
