“Big data” big data workshop jointly organized by the Department of Computer Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Jaffna in collaboration with the Virtusa POLARIS. It was held on 10th December 2016 at Faculty of Engineering. Four topics regarding the big data such as processing big data, data mining, churning of big data and social media and big data were covered. The following are the resource persons.
Dinesh Asanka: Dinesh Asanka holds B.Sc (Eng), Electrical Engineering (University of Moratuwa), MBA, IT (University of Moratuwa), and Master of Science (M.S.), Artificial Intelligence (University of Moratuwa). Currently he is working as a Senior Architect at Virtusa Polaris. He started his carrier as Software Implementation Officer around 12 years. Now he is Product Reviewer and Article writer in popular SQL Server Websites Also, he conduct lectures at SLIIT, eSoft in Database, Data warehousing and Data Mining.
Dinesh Priyankara: Dinesh Priyankara holds MSc in IT from Keele University. Dinesh is an experienced professional and database enthusiast with skills in database management systems and business intelligence, especially on the Microsoft SQL Server product suite. Possessing over 16 years of experience on data related technologies, he does training, consulting, and is a top contributor to the local SQL Server community. In recognition of his contributions and expertise he has demonstrated, he was awarded the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award for SQL Server for 11 consecutive years since 2006.
He is the Founder and Principal Architect of dinesQL (Pvt) Ltd. He holds an MSc in IT from Keele University, UK. In his spare time he runs a blog at http://dinesql.blogspot.com with a follower base of over 100,000 from around the world and is a co-organizer of SQL Server Sri Lanka User Group.
Selvendra Selvarajah: Selvendra Selvarajah holds B.Sc. Special Degree, Computer Science (University of Colombo), Master’s Degree, Financial Mathematics (University of Moratuwa). Currently he is working as Associate Architect at Virtusa Polaris.
Robinson B Prashanthan: Robinson B Prashanthan holds B.Sc. Computer Science from University of Colombo. Currently he is working as CEO at Innovay.
