Sri Lanka’s first hybrid power plant was developed in Eluvathivu Island, Jaffna. This plant is with a capacity of 60 KW will generate electricity using wind power, solar power, and diesel. It has been built with the financial assistance rendered by the Asian Development Bank and the Ceylon Electricity Board aiming the promotion of green energy at a cost of Rs. 187 million. One unit generated by this power plant will cost about Rs. 9.14.
Poster Presentation of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Computer Engineering Students
A poster presentation was organized by the Students of the Departments of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Computer Engineering Students. This is to demonstrate the projects carried out by the students their undergraduate studies. This was held on 20th December. This poster presentation was seen through by the Department staff, other departments’ staff and visitors from USA and Canada of Professor Kumar Venayagamoorthy, Dr. Thrishantha Nanayakkara, Professor Kiruba S Haran, Professor Visvakumar Aravinthan and Industrial engineers.
