Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering – Dr. T. Thiruvaran, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering – Dr. A. Kaneswaran and Dr. B. Ketheesan from Civil and Environmental Engineering visited to the Clemson University in USA. This was done on 6th June morning to the see the outdoor research activities. Then the Dean Professor A. Atputharajah and Head of the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies – Dr. A. Anburuvel join the team on 7th June and spent full day there. This Clemson visit was coordinated by Professor N. Ravichandran and supported by care for education.
The team met number of professors, Chairs of the Departments and discussed in detail on Curriculum, Laboratories, ABET Accreditation, Credit requirement for graduation, workload of employees, tenure process and revisions, staff development courses and teachers training, etc. They were excellent discussions on sharing their experience not only in technical sections but also in administration. Further excellent interactions with the research students gave an excellent opportunity to feel their research work. After visualizing the Civil Engineering sections, the team also visited to the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department research laboratory of Professor Kumar Venayagamoorthy. Possible collaborative research grant proposals were discussed.
