Newly appointed principals visited to the Faculty of Engineering on 8^th June to see the new development of technology together with the buildings of the Faculty of Engineering. This visit was organized by the District Secretariat office of Kilinochchi, covering both Kilinochchi and Mullativu Districts. Meeting was organized at the Indian High Commission of Sri Lanka at Colombo on 7^th June 2016. There were few delegates from educational institutions from India and Sri Lanka. This meeting is organized as a follow-up event to the decision taken at the 9th Joint Commission Meeting (JCM) held on February 2016 at Colombo. This is to encourage mutually beneficial linkages between the Universities and educational institutions in India and Sri Lanka.

A study tour was organized, on 3rd June 2016, by the Department of Physics of the Faculty of Science to experience the development of the roof top solar project and solar measuring station. A group of students headed by Professor P. Ravirajan visited to the Faculty. This is to share the knowledge and experience on roof top solar project and solar measuring station. The students visited to the project sites at the Faculty of Engineering. Further they requested for the data collected from the solar measuring station for their research work.

Eng. M. Vignarajah obtained his B.Sc.Eng. degree with Second Class Honors from the University of Peradeniya in 2000. Also he earned M.Phil. degree from University of Peradeniya in 2005. Then he moved to United States and obtained M.Sc in Civil Engineering. He is currently reading for his Ph.D. while attached to the Department of Civil Engineering as Senior Lecturer Grade I.

University Business Linkage program, the GIZ brought a consultant Mr. Jay Cousins from Berlin, to deliver a session at Kilinochchi on 30th May 2016. The session was organized for students as well as the staff. Jay was a creative and entrepreneurial personality, who does very inspirational work in prototyping, business and community building. Thakshajini participated in this meeting.In this meeting, information exchanged regarding appropriate curriculum related to water and wastewater studies,student mobility to university of Peradeniya in July-August 2016 and staff mobility to Norwegian University of Life Sciences in July-August 2016were discussed. A preliminary discussion was held at the Vavuniya DGM office between Dr. A. Atputharajah and the DGM North – National Water Supply and Drainage Board, Eng. Umar on 17th May. There a meeting was planned between staff, other experts with the DGM. Finally that meeting was organized on 2nd June 2016 at the Faculty of Engineering in Kilinochchi. This meeting was attended by Dr. S. Balakumar from the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. (Mrs.) T. Mikunthan from the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. S.S. Sivakumar and Dr. A.
